Yes, It will charge that battery. Please make sure the charger is a Spektrum charger that is updated with the G2 firmware.
A Smart G2 battery does require a Smart charger (either G1 or G2).
You could use the Spektrum 3S 800mAh battery with JST-RCY connector and not need any adapters. SPMX8003SJ50
Please note – Spektrum IC2 connectors and charge leads ARE NOT compatible with EC2 connectors
